Staff Sergeant Virgil McCloud of Eureka, IL, has been reported as missing in action in France since August 26, 1944, according to the War Department notification received by his wife, the former Florence Werber of Peoria, IL, now residing in Chicago.

Virgil is the son of Mr and Mrs M.F. McCloud of Eureka and brother of Richard who was in the unit when they sailed for England.

He has two other brothers, Pvt. Ray McCloud in the South Pacific and Delbert, in Eureka, as a sister Mrs Betty Lewellyn in Elmwood, IL.

Sergeant McCloud entered the service on May 7, 1942, and went overseas in January.
